Preservation Society of Union City IN-OH

Founded in 1987, the Preservation Society of Union City IN-OH’s purpose is to purchase and preserve historic edifices in Randolph and Darke Counties with the intent to maintain a historic perspective of the community.

Also, to restore these structures to their original status as closely as possible. The purpose being to educate the public as to the historic past, culture and as a teaching device to illustrate the importance of art, artifacts, and historic architecture of these structures as they existed in the past.

Mission Statement: It is the mission of the Preservation Society of Union City IN-OH to create an awareness of the history of the built environment and the cultural history of the greater Union City area. This is accomplished through education projects, public awareness, protecting historic sites and buildings, and serving as advocate.

The Preservation Society meets the third Saturday of every other month at 9:00 a.m. in the Community Room in Union City, Indiana.
