Historic Rail Tower Move

This event has ended

After months of planning and preparation, the rail tower is being moved to it’s new home at Artisan Park.

Many dignitaries from the State of Indiana and Ohio as well as surrounding cities in connecting counties will be in attendance.

The planned route is to go north through the old bank parking lot (Broadway), turning west on Pearl Street and continuing to Artisan Park. Once there it will be up and over the curb via ramps and through the park to it’s new location at the southwest corner.

This is a historical event that you won’t want to miss. Come join the party as a two story brick building is moved through the streets of Union City to its new location.

You can see more about how the funding process was accomplished along with the promotional video by visiting the Union City Indiana information page.

A very informative article with history and pictures of the progress is also available on the Union City – Community (private) site.

Ready to move. The rail tower is on its hydraulic platform.
